Death toll rises in US nightclub disaster

The Rhode Island nightclub fire has now claimed at least 95 lives and injured over 180.

The death toll rose as firefighters searched through the charred shell of the single-storey wood building.

The '80s hard rock band Great White had just started playing when giant pyrotechnic sparklers on stage began shooting up and ignited the ceiling.

The entire club was engulfed in flames within three minutes, Fire Chief Charles Hall said.

Hall said the club recently passed a fire inspection, but did not have a licence for fireworks.

The building, which was at least 60 years old, was not required to have a sprinkler system because of its small size.

The fireworks were used without permission from the club, said Kathleen Hagerty, a lawyer representing club owners Michael and Jeffrey Derderian.

"No permission was ever requested by the band or its agents to use pyrotechnics at The Station, and no permission was ever given," she said.

The band's singer, Jack Russell, said the manager checked with the club before the show and the use of fireworks was approved.

Russell said a guitarist with the band was among the missing.

i'm lost for words..

So little time...

...and so little to say so that's a good thing ;) Anyway, left today to stay with a friend for 3 weeks, working up to us going to the Rocky Horror Picture show. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! can't wait, so guess I'm leaving those four walls after all :D Going up to see my friends relatives for the next for days so definately no updates as there is no access, I'll be in and out as best I can over the 3 week span

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Well yay!!!!!! I'm back, as back as using someone elses phoneline means, but here I am. My parents bailed him out and paid the phonebill so life has retuned to somewhat normal for me.

Unfortunately he's just not someone you can stay mad at long and I love him, damn it, and that's it for now, wish there were more but..... nah :p

I have no phoneline, my brother didn't bother paying the bill and I don't know when he will and I don't have the money for any length of time at an internet cafe, which reminds me I have about spent enough now.......... fuck....

Kinda startled to realise that I haven't left this house since the one day I was shopping when my sister had been and before that I don't even know.... Mostly because before that I had that damn flu but I need motivated again to get out and do something before I move on from reclusive to hermit status lol!

My brother decided as it was a Friday night it was against the law that I should be sober and so he presented me with 2.5 litres of Cider, I know common ain't we lol!, before leaving with friends for a night out himself. Let me say I have done pretty well hehe! He should be proud. Took my bottle of cider, turned out the lights and watched 'The Hunger' Bowie/Sarandon/Deneuve vamp flick. Very, very strange film, but Bowie looked good, at least until he aged a billion years, and anyone who's seen it will know what I mean. Really just wierd vamp erotica with Deneuve meeting a nasty accident from all the 'mess ups' locked in the attic, but hey it kept me entertained. That's no recommedation by the way lol!
