Welcome to the world Caoimhe! (pronounced 'keeva') My sis had a little girl at 3.33am this morning woot! We are all off to Scotland for the day tomorrow to see her, can't wait :D
Vampy, as you have been made substitute dermo gal and explaining what my skin has decided to do to me might prove hard I give you imagery, yup I definately don't need sorted out at all lol! Mostly with my skin it's excema, but this is something else, comes and goes and is like little raised bumps/blisters, it's just ugggggggggggggggly :( I have put it down to perhaps photosensitivity, especially as it's been hot here and i've been out in the sun a little, but as I can't get anyone to look at it I can't really say that's official lol!
And there ya have it.
holy crap. have you been checked for Morgellons Disease?
Awww, you're an Auntie now =D Congrats!
Speaking of red, blistery bumps, I've had two occasions of (my first ever) sun rash, this summer. Both were on my hands and arms. They went all red (on top of the usual sun redness) and mega itchy, and there were loads of red bumps that were like mini blisters.. I'd probably have scratched my skin off, but rubbing them with iso-propanol, and then spreading Forever Aloe Propolis Creme all over the rash, helped.
In your case, it's probably something different as you've been suffering from it for longer and all, but maybe sun does make it worse? (See, you were made to be a vampire..)
gregor: Nope, never had a specific diagnosis at all, got to admit mentally from what I researched it was almost text book lol!, 'cept no, don't have the fibre, skin crawling , bits coming out of me bit...
'An extremely high percentage of our members report the following: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia (Myalgic Encephalopathy or ME), "brain fog" or cognitive decline, ADHD, mood disorders (primarily Bipolar Disorder and depression), joint swelling and pain, rapid visual and neurological decline, autoimmune disease, and hair loss. yup, sounds like my head... etc lol!
Stello!!!!!: Kiitos kaveri! :D My ickle niece is too cute hehe!
I know better than to be out in the sun for any length of time, i've had to be out more than normal and i'm sure it hasn't helped and irratated my skin to bits, me and the sun aren't friends for a long time now lol!
(ohhh kyllä, minä = loinen lol lol! ;) )
I have Photodermatitis/PLE (polymorphic Light Erruptions.) I break out from the sun in itchy/burny bumps, mainly on my forearms. It's basically an allergic reaction from the UV rays of the sun.

There's a lot of info out there but sadly, there's not a lot to do about it. Avoid any contact with the sun - even through windows or while driving - on affected skin areas and use hydrocortisone to treat irritation as needed.
Thank you Mem! Those links are great :) They actually mention it resembling excema etc which is just another reason, because it's another condition I suffer badly from, that I have a hard time getting seen or fobbed off. I had thought it was possible as although I have bad skin, only the hands etc, exposed areas seem to be dealing with this.
