Passion? I think not...

A quote from the front page of a local newspaper. So it's already old news in the USA - but as usual way behind, the film is just hitting here now.

"CATHOLIC priests have taken the unprecedented step of urging their congregations to watch a controversial film depicting Christ’s final hours. The church is predicting that The Passion of The Christ will serve as "a great tool for evangelisation" and rekindle the faith of lapsed Catholics.

Massgoers at one west Belfast church have been encouraged to watch with "open minds and hearts" when the movie comes to Irish cinema this week."

Hahahahahahahahaha! well this 'lapsed catholic' won't be going anywhere near it. And if the trillion other versions of the same story that have been churned out haven't had me racing back to beg forgiveness and rejoin the 'flock' you can take it as read that this one won't be doing so either, why would it, because it's more 'shocking' , more violent? Shows his true and real suffering? Riiiiiiiight... Like we don't do more horrifying things to each other in the name of religion every day. Spare me. And don't give me the 'burn in hell' crap, I'd have to believe the place existed to have any worries about my souls salvation on that front.
