Numb

Wish I felt better... wish I felt like writing about the little bits and pieces that have been going on but I don't and I don't think think I could muster the enthusiasm right now. I'm plain out sad and for now I don't think that situation is going to change.

*Small sniffle...*

Meh..... found one of my ickle hamster dudes dead today, just so deflating, dissapointing and sad... Roborovski's are such sweet tiny beings and definately have tiny individual personalities *sigh* the smallest one is so fiesty and a brave little soul lol, the first out to see what's going on and to do battle with intruders :). Yes, I know I'm rambling about hamsters, a dead one at that and one of 7 but it was mine and these smaller little creatures are just as loveable and loved, so yeah.... I'm sad about it.

Anyway, on to happier events. As of Saturday September 20th my sis is a married woman!!!!!!!!! WOOT! CONGRATS HUN!!!!!!!! and as far as weddings go it was totally fantastic, nothing went wrong and everyone had a blast :) The day started at 8am at the hairdresser where my hair was once again tortured and pinned into submission and took on the semblence of a pretty nice criss crossed bun/roll effect. From there we all trooped round the corner to the beauty salon to have our make up done (I normally don't wear any, so between the hair and make up when they finished it wasn't me at all, I was staring at this strange woman lol) After that it was back to the house to get into the dresses, sort out the flowers and try to keep everyone relaxed as stress was defiately beginning to show it's face. Finally around 12:15 the cars arrived and we headed off to the church, there was huge crowd already waiting when we arrived. It was then decided I should be first down the aisle with the other 2 bridesmaids together behind me, it wasn't a very long aisle but it was the longest walk of my life!!!!. My uncle sang as my sister then took her walk down to the alter and she looked so happy so ready for this and radiant :) The ceremony and readings were beautiful and they both had memorised their own vows.

Then came some real fun! It was photo time. These were taken in the most stunning gardens of a private property - the photograper has some sort of deal with the owner that allows him to use them for weddings. The main problem was that it had been raining the night before and the ground was sodden and waterlogged which of course meant that our heels kept sinking into it and on more than one occasion stuck solid. The grooms mother at one stage tried to walk and left hers behind, yup they were so stuck she walked right out of them, myself and another bridesmaid we're only saved from falling on our butts by grabbing the guys sleeve as we went back lol! Insane!. By the time we got back to the car to head for the reception we all looked like we had half the garden stuck to our shoes.

Got to the hotel and I finally managed to catch up with my friend, who had come as my guest, and of course with all the relatives and others over a drink and pretty quickly we were called in for dinner. The hotel had done an unbelieveable job and the service couldn't have been better. My mother made the first speech and did well considering that it was suppossed to be my brother but he was so nervous he was sick and she let him off lol! 'J' (groom) then had me sniffly with his speech and it was obvious how much he loves my sister, I could feel it pour from him, saw it in the sneaky looks he took when he thought no-one was looking, it shined in his eyes. I was so touched, pleased, proud, a million things at once for them both. The best man then made his speech and had the place in an uproar, he's a very, very funny man :D

The rest of the night passed in a haze of noise, music, chatter, dancing and much, much Jack Daniels, people just kept handing me glasses it lol! I wasn't feeling much of anything stuff was just happening all around me and I seemed to be watching it from inside, if that makes much sense, but enjoying it all the same!

And there you have it all that can be said, and is remembered, regarding the first of my siblings to tie the knot :)

When you know..... you know....

Remember that feeling of sheer panic and freaking out from yesterday? Well, I woke up this morning to find my mum had been in a car wreck and almost killed, she had spent most of yesterday and last night in hospital only getting back this morning. I hadn't questioned her being gone that long because she left to head out with friends for the day and then out for the night and normally that would entail late nights/early mornings. She never made it to meet them. She's teary, stiff and busted up but she's alive and as I told her this morning that's all I care about, the car can pretty pretty much go to pot, it at least is replaceable. So my friend who is arriving today will be being picked up by one of my mum's friends whom she's already met so that's ok. Me, i think I'm going to go hug my mum some more.

*Backs away from computer*

I'm in agony, blah....... my eyes are hyper sensitive, have been all day, eveything hurts, stings, every movement of my eyes, every movement on screen makes me wince and close them, even the skin around my cheeks and eyes area is burning and sensitive/sore to the touch. I don't know why I have tortured myself and been online at all today. Even spent some of it with a frozen eye mask in an attempt to cool them off and give them a rest, something I think I'm going to go do again when I've finished here...

Today has just been strange though... one of those again where that feeling of utter panic and freaking out about something I don't know, can't see is occuring, where my head is full of noise and I can't think, turn up music beyond the neccessary hoping it will block it out and take over as I rock in my seat....... the forums have helped, given me a distraction a reason to have to think and be clearheaded, to smile it's such an important place to me :)

So...

Saturday:
Saturday was hair trial day for the wedding, they did a really good job too! It's all going to be up and they did quite a cool criss cross bun type thing with a strand of hair left hanging on each side to frame my face. Must admit at the beginning I was staring at myself in sheer terror. My hair wasn't just quite long enough for what they wanted to do so they decided it needed to be curled to thicken it up a bit and give it more volume and thus a better chance at achieving the effect they wanted, so there I was was my entire head in foam curlers and setting lotion and then they put one of those dryer/heater things over me. Sometime later all the curlers and such removed I stared in the mirror at Shirley Temple.... no really you should have seen it, masses of huge ginger ringlets and I looked about 8 years old or something. You know I could have kissed that woman when she started to brush it out, I had this sheer panic that this was it, this was my 'wedding day do' so to speak lol! (one guess who would not have been turning up!)

Sunday:
Yesterday was insane....... my mothers entire family decended upon us (irish catholic, that's one big crowd of folks all in) along with some family friends and the grooms mother and father. Everything was set up outside, a huge bar, patio chairs, and heaps of food. Thank the gods it stayed fine because there's no way so many people were going to fit in the house. Very early on I got quite headachey and stiff so didn't really feel like joining in the various games that had been thought up. This was fine by me, I have just as much fun watching, others however weren't so impressed with my anti social antics. I'm sure it was the end of the world as you knew it *rolls eyes*

Hmmmmmmm...

I feel like being surrounded with books, going and sitting solitary, quietly and drinking in the written word. So I guess that requires I actually get off my butt, have a shower and walk down to the library to see what I can find for my knowledge strarved brain :)

On a side note I seem to have mangled my left wrist somehow, it's so damn painfull, can't move it back or forward though it's the kind of thing that feels like just cracking it would make it all better, like something has moved out of place a little - oh well off to the shower with me or the library will be shut before I manage to leave the house

*out*

Randomness

Hankering for Australia, probaly not helped by the fact that we found the huge big Australia shop In London, (Covent Garden) forgot to mention that!, and I struggled home with a 6 pack of VB and scoffed a Violet Crumble like it was out of fashion :D I've even come accross my fav aussie radio station Triple J weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

In other randomness:
Having just watched 28 Days and really enjoying it I'm becoming quite the Sandra Bullock fan more and more of her stuff is appearing in my film collection quite to my surprise, she seems to have snuck up on me lol!

I also don't appear to be the only one who thinks red and black hair is pretty damn cool and groovy :D. It may yet happen folks, I have reddish hair already, which I would probably dye a little deeper and go for black streaks or tips, black as a base (from experience!) with my coloring is just too much, living dead wouldn't be in it lol!

The short version

Hey the trip was great!

ok, ok I'll elaborate a little more :p Well I finally arrived in Liverpool on the 28th about 1am as the plane was delayed (surprise, surprise...) so we didn't get to my friends house until closer to 2am. Over the weekend we did very little just chilled, drank and went into town to pick up a few last minute things before heading down to London on the Tuesday to stay with my friends sister untill Friday evening then heading to Scotland (yup, I was busy lol!) The trip down to London took most of Tuesday up and we we're pretty beat so we simply grabbed some chinese and crashed out as we wanted to be up pretty early and get into the city.

London is huge....... totally crazy and I got somewhat freaked out by the mass of people who seemed to be heading toward me, why is that? why everytime you need to get somewhere in a huge town the entire population seems to be a huge wave going in the opposite direction and getting in the way lol!. Anyway it was all good, lots of fun running in and out of hugely expensive shops pretending to be rich tee hee :D The tube system to get around wasn't too bad but there is no air down there and by the time we got out of any of the trains we we're boiled and sweaty eugh! Met up with my friends sis and a friend of hers and we went out for pizza, I got charged for the cheese I asked not to be put on the pizza as I'm allergic, personally I didn't really give a damn it wasn't a huge ammount but friends sis went beserk, called the manger etc I wanted to hide under the table. Went back home after that where upon leafing through a magazine my friend stunbled upon the fact that the Ozzy gig I'd done all this running around for was postponed until October 29th. There just wasn't any way to break that one gently to me so she just screamed, me I couldn't believe it and promptly tried to suffocate myself with a pillow and went to bed totally annoyed. Still couldn't believe it when I woke up so we rang to double check and alass it was true......

It was then that her sis came up with the idea that Camden Town might be a pretty good place for me to spend the day as in her words 'all the freaks hang out there' Well that didn't sound to bad lol! so away we went. I decided I wanted to move there, it's an amazing place, I wish I had more time there but I would have needed a fortune there was so much I wanted, I ran through the markets and around the shops like a kid in a candy store (can't you just tell I'm starved for any short of decent shopping places here...) Ended up with a couple of tee's and a red and balck pair of net glovey things. Got a couple of shots of the main street:

Left on Friday morning and most of the day once again was taken up on a train getting ourselves to Scotland this time to my sisters for her hen party the next night. Grabbed some dinner when we got in and opened a bottle of wine and caught up with each other for the rest of what was left of the night. The place looked just fantastic, covered in balloons and streamers, photo's of my sis (this was all organised by one of my sisters friends and we decided she should make a career out of organizing these things she did so well) The rest of the guests arrived Sat morning, already drunk having been boozing sinze the got on the boat at 8am.... and boy are those people loud, obnoxious and common. In Laws from hell just doesn't cut it. Everyone is now seriously worried about this wedding. 'J' (goom) has been a way from them for so long and is so different that it's like he's from a totally different family. My sis took them aside later that day and a had a good 'talk' about what was not going to be happening on the big day, ie the 'fuck sake' etc being every other word out of their mouths in loud brassy Belfast accents. Yes I know I have a N.Irish brogue too but there's a world of difference in not only what I say but how I say it. On the other hand, coming from the area they do if they were any different they would be the ones to stick out like sore thunbs, so it's just something we have to get over and work around lol! (do I sound like a snob yet? :p)

Anyway, the rest of the guests then arrived around 5pm and Fi (sis's friend) had excelled herself, she had party bags organized for everyone, games arranged, one was a mr&mrs take off with a huge box of pressies and my sis got to stick her hand in and take one out every time she got a question right lol! (Fi had previously asked J a huge list of questions and got the answers) We all then had to write down something My sis new about each one of us and something we knew about her, again she picked them out of the box and had to guess who ahd written it. There was also a pin the cucumber on the hunky guy game but that I'll leave up to your imaginations ;). Around 7:30 and decked out with various headgear (horns, paper tiaras and that sort of thing) poppers, little bottles of bubbles, streamers etc we all packed into taxis to go the restaurante/Karaoke bar decided uopon because it deals specifically with hen nights and parties. There by now was 20 or so of us and it was hysterical! absolutely brilliant everyone sang (yup, even me..) danced on the tables - half were even running around barefoot lol! and generally just had a tremendous night, it was so the perfect place to go and my sis was so happy. We did the hugging, crying thing and 'I loooove you' bit too. Insane! Needless to say on the boat the next morning I went to sleep totally wrecked and didn't wake up untill we hit home.

And there ya go, short version, but pretty much covered the lot lol!

Utterly Trashed

Just in.... so tired I'm barely coherent and just slightly snappy....(as my mother will testify too - oops) I need to lie down maybe sleep most of tommorow if possible before I can even begin to catch up or go over the 'best of' my pretty damn good break to put it down here.

nighty night *falls over*
